TIRUPATI, FEBRUARY 15, 2026: A new game has emerged during the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams annual sports meet in Tirupati, wherein women employees participated in the Blanket Volleyball.
The TTD has organised sports competitions for the employees of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, including football, table tennis and carroms and other events.

But, the Blanket Volleyball has gained popularity due to the participation of the womenfolk in the age group of 45 years too. The game is played wherein the team should stand around the edge of the blanket, stretching it out so it is tight. The ‘serving’ team should start by placing the ball on the blanket, loosening then bringing it tight so it ‘throws’ the ball over the net. The other team then use their blanket to catch the ball, then throws it back.
In the Blanket Volleyball competition for Women Employees aged above 45 years, Kavitha won first place, and Padmavathi stood as runner-up. In the Blanket Volleyball competition for Women Employees below 45 years, the team led by Gangadevi emerged victorious, while the team of Shyamaladevi finished as runners-up.

In the Men Employees’ Football tournament, the team led by Umapathi emerged as winners, while the team of Damodar Reddy secured the runner-up position.
In the Table Tennis Singles event for Differently-Abled Employees (Men), Anjaneyulu won the title and Reddappa secured the runner-up position. In the Table Tennis Doubles event for Differently-Abled Employees (Men), Reddappa and Ramana emerged as winners, while Sivarama Krishna and Anjaneyulu were runners-up.
In the Table Tennis Singles event for Differently-Abled Women Employees, Tulasamma won the competition and Priyanka stood runner-up. In the Table Tennis Doubles event for Differently-Abled Women Employees, Ammulu and Vijayalakshmi secured first place, while B. Aruna Kumari and T. Gangojamma finished as runners-up.
In the Carroms Singles event for Retired Men Employees, Das emerged as winner and Ashok Kumar stood runner-up. In the Carroms Doubles event for Retired Men Employees, Jayachandra and Ashok Kumar won the title, while Pandurangaiah Reddy and Sri Das were runners-up.
