HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 14, 2026: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has charged that ‘conspiracies and backroom’ tactics are being hatched to prevent the Karimnagar Mayor’s post from going to the BJP.
Stating that the BJP, which had won 30 Municipal divisions in MCK, he said that the BJP had crossed the magic figure with the Independents joining the party. Even if Congress, AIMIM, and BRS come together, they are limited to just 26 seats despite uniting, he reminded.
He also alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had personally made a phone call, and the Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar is instructing BRS corporators to support the candidate proposed by Congress in the Mayor elections in Karimnagar. The leaders of Congress and BRS are openly coming together and holding discussions, he charged.
The Union Minister was talking to newsmen at the BJP state office in Hyderabad on Saturday, along MLC Malka Komaraiah, Chief Spokesperson N.V. Subhash, Legal Cell leader Antony Reddy, Spokesperson J. Sangappa, State leaders Kalyan Naik and Ravi Kiran.
On this occasion, he warned the Congress and BRS — if they conspired against the people’s mandate, we will settle scores with you, starting from Karimnagar itself. We will demonstrate the true strength of the BJP and the courage of the people of Karimnagar, he reiterated. “If the people’s mandate is disrespected, not a single Congress or BRS leader will be allowed to move freely in Karimnagar”, he remarked.
Wishing ‘Valentine’s Day’ greetings to Congress and BRS, he alleged that “AIMIM is maintaining an illicit relationship with both these parties. MIM is acting as the link facilitating the alleged nexus between Congress and BRS.
