TIRUPATI, FEBRUARY 04, 2026: TTD In-Charge Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary stated that Sanatana Dharma must be effectively passed on to the younger generation. He emphasised that the scriptures, traditions and the rich Sanatana heritage handed over by our ancestors over thousands of years must be preserved by integrating modern technology with traditional knowledge.
He inaugurated the training programme for Archakas, Paricharakas and Veda Parayanadars on Wednesday morning at Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, Tirupati.
Speaking on the occasion, the In-Charge EO said that three-day refresher training classes are being conducted for 35 Archakas and Paricharakas and 15 Veda Parayanadars serving in various temples under the TTD. He observed that these refresher courses would greatly help them perform daily rituals and kainkaryams with greater purity, discipline and adherence to Agama traditions.
He stressed that such training programmes should be conducted continuously, as they would help participants keep pace with changing times and gain awareness of new developments and technological advancements. He noted that these classes would play a crucial role in conveying the old traditions preserved by great spiritual leaders such as Sri Adi Shankaracharya, Sri Ramanujacharya and Sri Madhvacharya to devotees and society at large.
The EO explained that the training would cover a wide range of subjects, including Agama introduction, daily worship procedures, Pancha Suktas, Sandhyavandanam, Gotra–Pravaras, Agni Pratishtapana, Navya Sheshamsas, Ashtottara and Ashirvachana mantras, correct Sanskrit pronunciation, major homas such as Lajahomam during Kalyanotsavams, Tirumala Srivari temple festivals and traditions, Brahmotsavams, qualities and duties of Archakas, importance of Pavitrotsavam, Griha Archana, Bimba Pratishta, Vaishishtyam, Jyotisha Shastra, Nityarchana and training assessment.
He suggested that feedback should be collected from the trainees after the programme on what they have learned and what more needs to be learned, and that training modules should be designed accordingly.
Later, Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, Acharya Rani Sadashivamurthy, said that training programmes for Archakas, Paricharakas and Veda scholars must be conducted regularly and mandatorily. He noted that such programmes not only help participants learn new subjects but also encourage the exchange of diverse views, leading to the emergence of new ideas.
Subsequently, the TTD In-Charge EO released the book “Sri Vaikhanasa Bhagavacchastrokt Brahmotsava Anukramanika.” He also viewed a photo gallery arranged to highlight the importance of the Vedas in human daily life and the significance of yoga.
