MANCHERIAL, JANUARY 24, 2026: Minister for Labour and Mines, Dr. G. Vivek Venkataswamy, along with District Collector Kumar Deepak, laid foundation stones for several key development works in Chennur Municipality on Saturday. The development projects, being taken up at an estimated cost of ₹1.25 crore, are aimed at transforming the overall outlook of Chennur town, the Minister said.
As part of the programme, the Minister first laid the foundation stone for the construction of an arch (Kaman) at the entrance of Chennur town. Later, he performed ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a culvert in Ward No. 7, Vaddepally. He stated that this culvert would provide a permanent solution to the monsoon-related problems faced by local residents.

The Minister also laid foundation stones for development works in the Chennur market area, to be undertaken with an allocation of ₹50 lakh. He said that improving market infrastructure would provide better facilities to traders as well as the general public.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the government is committed to balanced development of both urban and rural areas, keeping in mind the needs and welfare of the people.
