JAGTIAL, JANUARY 20, 2026: Sri Anjaneya Swamy devasthanam in Kongadattu in Jagtial district was packed to the brim with the arrival of hordes of devotees to offer prayers to the presiding deity on Tuesday.
As it is a ritual for the devotees to visit the Kondagattu temple shrine and offer prayers before proceeding on a pilgrimage to the biennial Medaram Samakka-Sarakka jatara, the devotees had arrived in large numbers on Tuesday, which is an auspicious day to offer prayers to Lord Hanuman.

Devotees had started offering prayers from early morning 4 am, by taking a holy dip in ‘pushkarani’ (holy tank). It is estimated that more than 60,000 devotees had offered prayers to the deity.

Following the non-availability of parking places on the hillock of the shrine, there were traffic jams till JNTU. Temple Executive Officer T Srikanth Rao supervised the arrangements to ensure that there was no inconvenience to the devotees in offering prayers. The temple shrine earned a revenue of Rs 17 lakhs.
