KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 10, 2026: The Vivekananda Degree and PG College in Karimnagar hosted Sankranthi celebrations on Saturday with much pomp and gaiety. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the school principal, Ch Srinivas.
In his speech, the principal highlighted that festivals and traditions are of great importance, and people have a significant responsibility to pass them on to the younger generation, which is why the school is celebrating this festival with great fervour. Not only students, but also teachers and parents value traditions. Students entertained the audience through classical and folk dances, portraying the eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi.

On this occasion, the students participated in the Rangoli competitions by painting the floor with different patterns and colours.
