KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 09, 2026: Jana Jagruti Yatra, a cycle ride campaign in Telangana, launched by Canara Bank employee, Uma Maheshwara Rao, who has embarked on an 800-kilometre ride opposing the privatisation of public sector banks from January 6 to 11, reached the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank main administrative office in Karimnagar town on Friday.
The campaign was taken up by the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Bank Employees Federation. The cycle ride opposing the privatisation of public sector banks, demanding adequate recruitment in banks and five-day banking in the banking industry as agreed by the government, was launched at the Central Bank of India, Bank Street, Koti, in Hyderabad on January 6, 2026.
The cycle ride reached Karimnagar DCCB on Friday evening.
