Innovative programme held for the first time in the State; Sectoral Officers Anjaneyulu and Srinivas attend as chief guests
KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 07, 2026: The World Hindi Day – 2026 celebrations were held in a festive atmosphere at Chigurumamidi mandal headquarters in Karimnagar district. Organised under the aegis of the Hindi Teachers Forum, the programme was conducted at the school complex level for Chigurumamidi, Ganneruvaram and Thimmapur mandals. Notably, this large-scale and innovative initiative was organised for the first time in Telangana State.
District Education Department Sectoral Officers Anjaneyulu and Srinivas attended the programme as chief guests and formally inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. World Hindi Day (Vishwa Hindi Diwas) is celebrated annually on January 10th to promote the Hindi language globally, commemorating the first World Hindi Conference held in Nagpur, India, on this date in 1975. It’s a day to raise awareness about Hindi’s significance as an international language and its role in connecting cultures, with celebrations often involving cultural programs, competitions, and events aimed at fostering Hindi use worldwide.
Addressing the gathering, Sectoral Officer Anjaneyulu emphasised that such competitions are essential to bring out the hidden creativity of students. He stated that Hindi is not merely a subject but a symbol of national integration, and added that early proficiency in Hindi would help students access national-level employment opportunities in the future. He particularly appreciated competitions like ORF (Oral Reading Fluency) and role play, noting that they help students overcome stage fright and build self-confidence.
The TLM (Teaching Learning Material) exhibition organised by teachers as part of the programme drew special appreciation from the officials. They observed that low-cost, innovative teaching aids can make even complex grammar concepts easy to understand and described the initiative as a model for other teachers to emulate. The officials also congratulated the representatives of the Hindi Teachers Forum for successfully organising such a landmark programme at the state level.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharif Ahmed, Telangana State Convener of the Hindi Teachers Forum, said that the forum’s primary objective is the promotion and preservation of the Hindi language and to ensure that district students emerge as leaders at the state level. Around 200 students from various schools participated in the competitions and showcased their talents. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners by Sectoral Officer Sri Anjaneyulu.
The programme was attended by Sectoral Officers Anjaneyulu and Srinivas, Chigurumamidi Mandal Education Officer V. Pavani, Chigurumamidi High School Headmaster Mohammed Irshad, Hindi Teachers Forum State Convener Sharif Ahmed, State Co-Convener B. Vishnu Kumar, District Convener T.
