Former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya to inaugurate the mela
KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 21, 2025: The fourth edition of Kisan Grameen Mela will be conducted at Ambedkar Stadium in Karimnagar town from December 24 to 26, 2025, to give a fillip to the farming community to increase their income through diversified farming activities.
Disclosing this to newsmen here on Sunday, Kisan Jagaran President and BJP senior leader P Sugunakar Rao said that the Kisan Grameen mela would be inaugurated by BJP senior leader and former Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya. He said that the mela is aimed at exposing the farming community to the latest agricultural development, mechanization and diversified farming activities to reap riches.
Started in 2022, the Kisan Grameen mela in Karimnagar district is evoking good response with good participation from the farming community and other allied sectors of agriculture from the integrated Karimnagar district, he stated. He said that the progressive farmers would participate in the mela and share their success formulas with the visiting farmers.
The mela would enlighten the farmers to diversify their agricultural practices to palm oil, dairy, sheep and poultry units, he said, adding that the farmers could take up prawn farming in the SRSP command area where the paddy fields were being damaged.
He also explained about the Farmer-Producer Organisations reaping riches in Chintakunta, Konaraopeta, Boinpalli and other villages through diversification of farm activities. He said that the mela would explain to the farmers about the fertiliser booking through WhatsApp, more returns by taking up rearing honeybees and advanced machinery for the toddy-tappers to climb the trees to tap the toddy. Eminent scientists and progressive farmers would be sharing their experiences at the mela, he said and informed the farmers and women SHG members to utilise the opportunity.
