
TIRUPATI, NOVEMBER 23, 2025: Panchami Tirtham is considered the most sacred event during the annual Karthika Brahmotsavam of Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru at Tiruchanoor.
The auspicious day marks the divine appearance of the Goddess Sri Padmavati Devi on a 1000-petal golden lotus in the middle of Padma Pushkarini is celebrated as Panchami Tirtham.
This year, Panchami Tirtham will be observed on November 25, between 12:10noon and 12:20noon in the auspicious Kumbha Lagna, marking the final day of the Brahmotsavam.
Divine Origin as described in Puranas
Among the 18 Puranas composed by Sage Veda Vyasa, the Padma Purana details the divine incarnation of Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru.
It is also detailed in Puranas that for 12 years, Sri Srinivasa(the incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu in Kaliyuga) did penance to tie the nuptial knot with Sri Padmavati Devi.
While the Bhavishyottara Purana states that Sri Padmavathi performed penance for Sri Srinivasa.

After Abhyangana Snanam, the deity is taken to Pushkarini or Panchami Theertha Mandapam.
Snapana Tirumanjanam to Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru and Sri Sudarshana Chakrattalwar after Vishwaksena Aradhana, Punyahavachanam and other rituals.
