NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 14, 2025: In alignment with the visionary call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “Sahakar se Samriddhi,” Banas Dairy and Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited (BBSSL) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the potato value chain through cooperative collaboration. The MoU, signed on 10th November 2025 at Atal Akshay Urja Bhavan, New Delhi, marks a major step in realising the Ministry of Cooperation’s initiative of ‘Cooperation among Cooperatives.’
The agreement envisions the development of a comprehensive “seed-to-market” value chain for potatoes, encompassing production of certified, disease-free seed potatoes, scientific cultivation methods, contract farming, and efficient market linkages. This integrated effort aims to enhance productivity, reduce input losses, and increase farmers’ income and resilience.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary (Cooperation), termed the partnership a significant milestone in farmer empowerment and rural prosperity through strengthened value chains. Under the MoU, BBSSL will utilize Banas Dairy’s tissue culture and aeroponic facilities, while Banas Dairy will extend its expertise in technical and market support.
