TIRUPATI, NOVEMBER 11, 2025: Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple in Tiruchanoor, a prominent pilgrimage site in Andhra Pradesh, underwent a traditional cleansing ritual known as Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam on Tuesday morning. This purification ceremony paves the way for the temple’s annual Kartika Brahmotsavams, a significant religious festival scheduled to be conducted from November 17 to 25. The cleansing ritual, performed between 6 am and 9 am, involved a thorough purification of the main shrine and its associated sub-shrines.
Priests and temple staff carried out the process using a fragrant mixture called Parimalam, following a long-standing tradition. The cleansing encompassed the temple’s walls, roof slabs, puja vessels, and other sacred objects. A special aromatic paste prepared from ingredients such as Srichurnam, Namakommu, Kasturi (musk), turmeric, camphor, sandalwood powder, Kichligadda, and perfumed water was applied to the surfaces and vessels, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere for devotees.

On this occasion, a devotee from Hyderabad, Swarna Kumar Reddy, had donated seven curtains to the temple, and Tirupati devotee Mani had donated three curtains and handed them over the same to the temple deputy EO Harindranath and priest Babu Swamy. The curtains would be decorated in the temple shrine. TTD JEO V Veerabrahmam, CVSO KV Muralikrishna, Tirupati SP L Subbarayudu and others were also present.
The temple authorities said that the Brahmotsavam processions would be conducted from 8 am to 10 am and 7 pm to 9 pm every day from November 17 to 25.
