
BADRADRI-KOTHAGUDEM, SEPTEMBER 26, 2025: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau have trapped a sub-inspector of police for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a complainant for doing an official favour in Manuguru of Badradri Kothagudam district on Friday.
Officials said that Sub-Inspector of police Bathini Ranjith working as Manuguru police station had demanded a bribe of Rs 40,000 from the complainant as a reward for having issued notices under section 35 (3) of the BNS Act to the complainant and his brother in crime number 292/2025 registered under section 318 (v), 296 (3) read with 3(v) of the BNS Act of Manuguru police station.
The Accused SI of the police was arrested and produced before the ACB special court in Warangal. The case is under investigation. The ACB informed the people to dial toll-free number 1064 if any public servant demands a bribe for doing official favours.
