

KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25, 2025: Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar and Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar on Thursday formally laid foundation stones for the construction of Tribal Boys and Girls hostels separately at a cost of Rs 20 crore on the premises of Satavahana University in Karimnagar town.
Thanking the Minister for Social Welfare for allocating Rs 20 crore for the construction of two hostels for tribals, Mr Prabhakar had submitted a petition urging the Social Welfare Minister to allocate at least Rs 125 crore for the welfare of tribals of the Husnabad assembly segment.
He reminded that the Congress government had sanctioned the Satavahana University and allocated 200 acres of land to the university when he was APMarkfed chairman and under the leadership of then Minister for R&B T Jeevan Reddy. He alleged that the university was neglected during the 10 years of the BRS regime. He said that the Congress government had secured an engineering college in Husnabad, and Law college and Pharmacy colleges for the university.
Vice Chancellor Prof U Umesh Kumar, Collector Pamela Satpathy, Additional Collector Ashwini Tanaji Wakade, Municipal Commissioner Praful Desai, SUDA chairman K Narender Reddy, RTA member Padala Rahul, Congress leader Velichala Rajender Rao and others were also present.
