
KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 20, 2025: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Nagunur, Karimnagar town, witnessed grand Bathukamma celebrations with students and faculty members participating in large numbers with lots of enthusiasm and zeal on Saturday.
The college campus was filled with festive joy as students prepared colourful Bathukammas with seasonal flowers like ‘thangedu, gunugu, and marigolds’ by stacking them in a conical shape. They also offered prayers to Goddess Gauri. Wearing traditional attire, they sang folk songs and danced in circles, showcasing the cultural essence of Telangana.
Principal T. Malathi, along with Vice Principal S. Padmaja, inaugurated the celebrations, highlighting Bathukamma as a festival that represents women’s strength, cultural pride, and reverence for nature.
Later, students carried the Bathukammas in a procession around the campus and performed the ritual immersion. The program concluded with cultural performances and the distribution of prasadam.
The event reflected the vibrant spirit of Telangana and left unforgettable memories for the students.
