RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 29, 2025: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Shatrajupalli, Vemulawada, observed the National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and fervour, which is celebrated every year on the birth anniversary of Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, on Friday.
The programme was presided over by Principal K. Lavanya. Vice Principal B. Sumalatha, Physical Director Ch. Anusha, faculty members, and a large number of students enthusiastically participated in the event. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal
enlightened the gathering that the day embraces sportsmanship and brotherhood that comes with sports. National Sports Day is celebrated graciously all over the nation to honour national sports teams for their outstanding performance for their respective country, she added.
Various sports and games competitions were conducted for the students to mark the day. The winners were felicitated and encouraged to continue excelling in sports along with academics.
