
HYDERABAD, AUGUST 23, 2025: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Wargal, celebrated National Space Day on 23rd August 2025, commemorating the historic success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The event was marked by enthusiastic participation from students and staff, making it a grand success, stated Sri Dasi Rajendar, Principal of the Vidyalaya.
The celebration was graced by Madhavaneni Raghunandan Rao, Member of Parliament, Medak Constituency, as Chief Guest, and Ramchandar Rao, Senior Scientist at Research Centre Imarat (RCI), DRDO Hyderabad, as Guest of Honour.
The distinguished guests inaugurated the event with the lighting of the lamp and garlanding the portrait of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, the Father of the Indian Space Program. They also visited and appreciated space science exhibits prepared by students, which showcased creativity and scientific temperament.
Addressing the gathering, Ramchandar Rao inspired students to aspire for careers in space science and contribute to India’s ambitious missions led by ISRO and DRDO. He emphasised that Indian scientists are making the nation proud with their path-breaking innovations.
Speaking on the occasion, Raghunandan Rao expressed his delight in associating with the Vidyalaya once again. He elaborated on Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and motivated students to play a pivotal role in transforming India into a developed nation. He also lauded ISRO and DRDO for their stellar achievements in advancing technology.
As part of the celebrations, winners of the science exhibition were felicitated by the dignitaries. Earlier, Raghunandan Rao unveiled a statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Vidyalaya campus, in the presence of staff and students.
