KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 16, 2025: Eminent Physician Dr D Raghu Raman has formally released posters appealing to the people to opt for eco-friendly clay idols for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, which will be celebrated on September 27.
The Humara Unnath Marg (HUM), a voluntary organisation that distributes clay idols every year, had prepared the posters titled “Mana Ganapathi – Matti Ganapathi’ (Our Ganesh – Clay idol) which were released by the doctor at his clinic in Karimnagar town on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Raghu Raman stressed the importance of immersing the idols in retention tanks. “Using desilted clay for making Ganesha idols is an annual festival support activity. The clay goes back to the lake from where it is desilted. Let us use clay from the retention tanks and make idols and immerse them back in the retention tanks”, he pointed out
He urged people to compost the flowers and herbs that are used in the puja, and not immerse non-degradable material into clean water bodies. The HUM, a voluntary organisation would be distributing 200 clay idols on the festival day. HUM founder Danapuri Sagar, treasurer T Tirupati, members Hima Sai, Nayan Patel and others were also present.
