WARGAL, AUGUST 11, 2025: The orientation programme for the first-year engineering students at Kaveri University was a grand success. The event was attended by the university’s Chancellor, G.V. Bhaskara Rao, as the chief guest. Addressing the students and their parents, he called on students to compete not only with the nation but with the entire world.
Bhaskara Rao said he established the university to give back to society, not for financial gain. He mentioned that he spends 50 lakh rupees a month on adopting government schools, providing free meals, lodging, and education to about 20 villages. He assured the parents and students, to a thunderous applause, that Kaveri University would maintain high quality and become a leading institution in the country, making its students proud.
The Vice-Chancellor, V. Praveen Rao, stated that the university is committed to providing quality and value-based education. He said that the university has experienced faculty with doctoral and post-doctoral qualifications recruited from both India and abroad, along with an excellent infrastructure. He encouraged students to follow the path of Abdul Kalam, who inspired students to dream big and work hard to achieve them. He also urged students to keep up with the rapidly advancing technologies, acquire new skills, and move from being job-seekers to job-creators. He proudly announced that Kaveri University is the first AgriTech University in the country. He also outlined ten key principles for students to follow, including “Embrace the Learning,” “Strong Foundation,” “Keep with the Trend,” “Learn by Doing,” “Communicate Well,” “Problem-Solving,” and “Act Ethically.”
Konda Srinivas, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, announced that this year, the university has admitted students into Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI&ML) programs, promising to provide them with a high-quality education.
The event was also attended by Professor T. Tirupathi Rao (Chancellor, Manipur University), Pavan (Vice-Chairman, Kaveri Seeds Company), C. Vamsidhar (Executive Director, Kaveri Seeds), Mithun Chand (Executive Director), Registrar B Srinivasulu, P. Mahender Reddy (Circle Inspector, Gauraram), Harsha Polsani (Director of Student Welfare, Kaveri University), and A. Pratap Kumar Reddy (Dean, School of Agricultural, Kaveri University). They extended their congratulations to the students.
