JAGTIAL, MARCH 15, 2024: Students of Government Degree College for Women, Jagtial town, have bagged several prizes at the VIKALPA’24 organised by Satavahana University in Karimnagar town on Thursday evening.
Stuthi, secured third prize in Essay writing, Nandini secured third prize in JAM and S Manisha, R Navami, M Sushma, K Nivedha, N Renuka, B Pragnya, K Meghana secured second prize in group dance competition.
The winners will represent Satavahana University at PRERNA’24 in Osmania University. Principal Y Satyanarayana, Vice Principal Masroor Sultana, Commerce department incharge M Srinivas Reddy, IQAC coordinator Harjoth Kaur and others congratulated the students.
World Consumer Day
The Commerce department along with NSS units of the college observed World consumer rights day on Friday and educated the students on the consumers rights and various aspects of Consumer Protection Act.
The speakers highlighted the problems of lack of awareness of consumers regarding rights and hesitant initiatives to press upon the consumer rights. They also deliberated on the issues of consumer protection and unfair trade-practices prevalent in the markets. Consumers were told to be vigilant. They were told that while making any purchase of pre-packed product, the mandatory declaration should be checked. Incharge principal Masroor Sultana, NSS programme officers M Srinivasa Reddy and V Jamuna, IQAC coordinator Harjoth Kaur and others were also present.
