
KARIMNAGAR, JULY 16, 2025: Students of Siddartha High Schools in various parts of Karimnagar town celebrated the Bonalu, a traditional festival deeply rooted in the rich culture of Telangana state, India, on Wednesday.
The celebration commenced with a captivating introduction to Bonalu, shedding light on its significance and symbolic importance in our culture and traditions, followed by a lively Bonalu procession where girls dressed in colourful traditional attire carried decorated pots on their heads, symbolising devotion and gratitude. The beats of traditional drums and folk songs echoed through the school, filling the air with enthusiasm.
The students sang devotional songs and danced gracefully to the resonating ‘teen maar’ beats and captivated the audience with their performance. The boys dressed as ‘Potharajus’ added an extra touch of charisma and enthusiasm that caught everyone’s attention, truly electrifying the atmosphere.
The chairman of the school, Dasari Sripal Reddy, Director Swapna Sripal Reddy and others participated as chief guests. The celebration left everyone with a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural traditions of Telangana and reminded us of our roots, and helped us connect with the spirit of community.
