
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, FEBRUARY 24, 2025: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has organised a Financial Literacy Week to create awareness among the students of Government Degree College, Gambhiraopet in Rajanna-Sircilla district on Monday.
The programme was organised to educate the rural students as the majority lack knowledge related to financial products and services, banking procedures and risk-return framework. The RBI has instructed banks to spread information among customers and the general public. The RBI will also undertake a mass media campaign to broadcast financial awareness messages. Posters in regional languages have been given to banks for display in their branches and financial literacy centres.
Speaking on the occasion, College principal V Vijaya Lakshmi said that the financial literacy campaign was aimed to sensitise students about the critical importance of financial literacy from a young age, emphasising its profound impact on their future financial well-being. Throughout the event, students actively participated in engaging activities tailored to enhance their understanding of financial education.
Vice Principal Prabhakar, Commerce HoD A Manohar, faculty members K Mahesh, M Jagannatham, IQAC coordinator Anjaneyulu, TASK coordinator Sravan and others were also present.
