
HYDERABAD, JANUARY 29, 2025: The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the conduct of elections for the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state on Wednesday.
The notification for the elections will be issued on February 3, the last date of submission of nominations is February 10 with polling scheduled for February 27 from 8 am to 4 pm. The counting of votes will take place on March 3.
As per the schedule, three MLC seats in each of the two Telugu states will go to elections. In Telangana, elections will be held for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers’ Constituency and the corresponding Graduates’ Constituency. Additionally, elections will be conducted for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ Constituency.
In Andhra Pradesh, elections will be held for the Graduates’ Constituencies of the erstwhile East and West Godavari districts, as well as Krishna-Guntur. The Election Commission has also scheduled elections for the Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam Teachers’ Constituency.
