KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 26, 2024: While Karimnagar town is suffering from an acute water crisis and the majority of adjoining villages which were merged with the Municipality are still yet to get water supply, the water flows freely from street public taps in various parts of the Karimnagar town.
A huge quantity of precious drinking water thus gets wasted as the authorities have not fixed taps to close after usage. There are several localities in Karimnagar town where the public taps water goes to waste as there is no mechanism to check the waste wastage by the MCK authorities.
The above picture is from the Housing board colony in Karimnagar town where the authorities have launched 24×7 water supply on a pilot basis. There is no residential colony and it is only the Housing board colony to the Cancer hospital road nad none fetches water from this tap except for wastage. Similarly, the public taps in Boiwada, Bhagathnagar and other localities goes waste as there are no taps fixed to it.
HUM voluntary organisation founder president Danapuri Sagar said that the MCK is supplying daily water supply in Karimnagar town and wasting the water by not fixing the taps for public taps in various parts of the town. Again when the summer enters and when there is peak demand for the water, the MCK makes it alternate day water supply, he said and demanded the authorities to check wastage of water so that the people of the town could secure daily water supply throughout the year.
